Karen was elected to the position of LaSalle County State’s Attorney on November 8, 2016. She is the first woman to hold this office in LaSalle County. Prior to assuming office, Karen was employed in private practice with the form of Mueller Anderson & Associates since 2014. Karen attended Illinois Valley Community College, Ashford University and graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she was a member of Law Review and had an article published on the use of anonymous juries in the criminal justice system. While attending law school, Karen worked as both an intern and 711 intern in the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office. During this entire time, Karen also worked as a paralegal and raised her family in LaSalle County.
