If you are a healthcare provider, be on the look-out for:
- People who recently traveled from China or another affected area and who have symptoms associated with COVID-19, and
- People who have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 or pneumonia of unknown cause. (Consult the most recent definition for patients under investigation [PUIs])
If you have a patient that meets the CDC criteria outlined in the link above mask the patient and place them in an airborne infection isolation room immediately, practicing contact and airborne precautions in addition to eye protection.
Fill out the Person Under Investigation (PUI) form and contact the LaSalle County Health Department immediately at 815-433-3366. For emergency after hours reporting, please contact the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department at (815)433-2161 and give them your contact information and someone from the Health Department will contact you as soon as possible.
