The purpose of the “Neato Mosquito” program is to increase children’s awareness of mosquitoes and to instill risk-reduction measures.  Mosquitoes serve as vectors for several potentially life-threatening diseases.  The presentation lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes a power point presentation and stickers for the children.  The presentation is science-based and covers the following areas:

  • Life History of the Mosquito
  • How Mosquitoes Feed
  • Mosquito Ecology
  • Mosquitoes and Disease
  • West Nile Virus
  • Lyme Disease
  • Prevention
