The LaSalle County Health Department TB (Tuberculosis) Program focuses on both prevention and control of tuberculosis in LaSalle County.
Tuberculosis is a disease which spreads from person to person through the air. Germs enter the air when a person with TB of the lung coughs, sneezes, laughs or sings. TB usually effects the lungs but it can also affect other parts of the body such as the brain, kidneys, or spine.
Mantoux TB skin testing is available WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT Monday – Wednesday, and Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. No testing is done on Thursday. No physicians order is required. There is a fee of $20.00 for a ONE STEP, and $35.00 for a TWO STEP.
Printed tuberculosis information is available. LCHD can also provide group presentations on tuberculosis. For more information or to schedule a presentation, contact the LaSalle County Health Department.
