If a setback requirement can’t be met, a variance to these setback rules can be applied for. All setback variance requests must be heard at a public hearing by the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Zoning Board of Appeals makes a recommendation to the full County Board after the case is heard at a public hearing. The County Board then makes the final decision on whether or not a variance is granted. A fee of $100.00 is required for such an application and a decision will be provided to the applicant within 120 days from the time a “certified” completed application is submitted to the LaSalle County Department of Environmental Services and Land Use. The application filing fee is $100.00 for a variance request. The applicant would also be responsible for the cost of public notification.
